Blythe and I were in a store the other day and she was misbehaving. I said something very Mom-ish, like: "Blythe, why can't you just listen to me and follow the rules? Stand by me in line and wait quietly. You need to follow the rules."
We purchased our items and left the store. She looked up at me with a grumpy face, and sternly said, "I like to make up my own rules."
She just turned six. Junior high is going to be rough.

That's such a "Blythe-like" remark! She certainly has a mind of her own, and like you, I fear the teen years!
