Last week, my daughter's kindergarten class started saying the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by singing "You're A Grand Old Flag", every morning. Now that she's 6 days into the routine, I thought I would ask her to sing the song to me, just to see which how well she could remember it.
(By the way, I'm so glad I asked--it was the high point of my day.)
Here is what gleefully spewed out of her tiny mouth :
You're a grand old flag
You're a high flyin flag
Forever you are a flaggggg
You're the emblem of
The land I love
Home of the fee and the brave
Every day beats true
For the red white and blue
'Never a poke or a brag
We all seek to see a flagggg
Keep your eye on the grand old flag
Salute!
